Oh wow that is expensive! I generally don’t break the $50-60 mark for any garments, especially a shirt! Perhaps I am cheap, but I really can’t convince myself to buy the boutique high priced items on smith/court. Which is a shame, cause I love shopping, and I love this neighborhood – alas, two loves that don’t seem to meet. I wish there was an affordable boutique alternative in the Brooklyn area? Anybody care to chime in on their best, cutest, most affordable finds?

Word on Chowhound is that Baluchi’s may be replaced with a French restaurant. There’s also a mention that Tuk Tuk will be closing soon.

I can’t say I had any love for Baluchis. I didn’t dislike them exactly, but I thought they were overpriced (you had to pay extra for rice — at an Indian place??) The place was always so cold inside too. And last but not least, and this is just a personal thing with me, but I can’t stand copper goblets for drinking. Cold metal glasses – ack – it actually makes my teeth hurt to think about them.

While this is all fine and dandy, can someone please explain to me what the fuck happened to Baluchi’s?!?!??!?!?! Their leaving the street is nothing short of criminal as none of the other Indian establishments can touch them…I might cry……..
