Best NYC activities for a 2 year old?

Dear readers of 423smith. I need your advice. My cousin and her 2 yr old daughter are coming into town for a day and want to see the sights. What are the best NYC/Brooklyn activities for a 2 yr old tourist? Thanks!

As a father of twin boys who are now almost five years old, I can say the Brooklyn and/or Manhattan Children’s Zoos are great starters. The one in central park is probably better for tourists, because you get to see the park and the area around Fifth Avenue, but Brooklyn is more convenient at least for me. Also the Aquarium in Coney Island is nice, but get there early and hit the boardwalk for ice cream - and there is a playground on the beach pretty close to the big public bathrooms. And tourists must go to Nathan’s.

The children’s Pirate Ship park in DUMBO is really nice too and what a view. Plus Bubby’s Restaurant is good for kids.

    Good Luck

The NYC Transit Museum on Schermerhorn and Bourem Place. Nice and cool, tons of room for kids to run around, and buses for them to “drive”. 2 year olds LOVE it.

The Staten Island Zoo and/or Snug Harbor Cultural Center, if you feel like taking them out-of-borough.
