Trying to Avoid a Utility Belt: Suggestions?

Here is the deal, I’m thinking of getting an ipod, but i also need to get a new phone. But along with my digital camera I’ll have like 100 pieces of random technology to drag around with me everywhere. I mean, if they all fit into this hulk utility belt that would be one thing, but instead they clank around in my bag and remain perpetually uncharged. Combined with the husband’s electronics we’ll have like 8 different chargers plugged in at the house – that is ALL of our outlets.

Anyway, I know the iphone is coming out – but it is mucho cabbage and hmmm… i’ve got issues with trendy mac products. (sue me)

So what I’d like to know is, does anybody have a good phone/mp3 player combo that they would recommend? I’d even do a phone, mp3player, email combo if you have a good one. Oh, and while we are at it – do you like your cell phone service? Do they charge you out the nozzle?

I have the Sony Ericsson k750i… you can get a 2GB memory stick pro and use it like an iPod nano. Also a 2 megapixel camera with auto-focus (much better than standard cameras on phones) makes this the handiest thing I carry around with me. Bluetooth for syncing with itunes/contacts/etc. is also mighty convenient.

They now have newer versions of the k750i I believe.. maybe a 800 or 810 something. Good luck.

T-Mobile. It also works on Cingular… GSM phone, so you can just swap out the SIM card. Great for using internationally too, I was able to switch to a local SIM card and use the phone in Asia (I think you can do so in European countries too).

Bonus: use your phone’s internet access via bluetooth for your laptop. I was inspired to try it last night and it works rather well!

I have a Cingular 8125 which i haven’t grown to love, but I really do appreciate it and it does all the things you want – mp3, email, phone, camera, web – everything that an iphone can do, plus it has a slide out querty keypad which is great for text messages and writing notes. I like cingular service as well good connections and rollover…
