After many missed opportunities to cook up a Bacon of the Month package at LJ’s place we finally settled on Lost’s Season 5 premiere night. Both the bacon and the show did not disappoint.
This month’s selection was the typical smoked bacon. Unlike most of the packages from the BoMC this one was not too salty. The New Braunfels’ bacon was thick slabs of meaty goodness that balanced the sweet and salty quite nicely.
Although you can’t see it in this picture, directly behind me was the cutest Hello Kitty humidifier. LJ swears by it and I’m thinking of replacing my current one that doesn’t work so great.
We also played the Mookie to not so good results – too many distractions with Lost, bacon and my stupid laptop mouse going wonky.
As this was the Lost package of bacon and not the Last package there’s one more to go. February’s selection is tentatively scheduled to be cooked at Charles Star’s which should be an entertaining evening of laughs, poker and of course yummy bacon.

The Cobble Hill Coffee Shop (formerly known as the Donut House) is my new most favorite and affordable place to get breakfast.

Eton now has noodles! It is nice to have a dumping/noodle place in the hood. I like this guy and I like this place. But If I had to choose a dumpling to rule all dumplings I still prefer “Fried Dumplings” on Mosco street in chinatown. Holy crap are they amazing. And only $1 for 5 dumplings. Perfect fried little packages of goodness.
Buttermilk Channel opened in the former Cafe Scaramouche location. Looks tasty. I bet the folks at a brooklyn life have already covered this — yep – they have.
This most pimped out bed frame was put to pasture on the corner of union and smith. Speakers in the headboard people. Straight out of “The Lady’s Man.”

I saw this in the subway and not in CG- but it is the most 80′s ad ever. Know how I know? Saxaphone solo!
I was seriously considering buying this old school map from Yesterday’s News. I love that place.
These two cars were making whoopie in the snow on court street.

So sad, Patrick McGoohan has just passed away. Maybe it’s a good thing that he missed out on the Prisoner remake (although I am looking forward to Ian McKellan as No. 2.)
