The CDC has said you cannot catch swine flu from eating pork so head on down to the Brooklyn Pork Off this weekend.

According to the Pork Off site, “the sausage-stuffed donuts, smoked baby back ribs, candied bacon ice cream, pressed pork belly sandwiches, pinakbet, and the rest of the pork pack will be properly handled, and royally, excellently cooked.”

Wow – I really thought the big death of the week was going to be Stephen Hawking but to my surprise it turned out to be Bea Arthur. The Golden Girls was one show that I really enjoyed watching with my mom. Last May my mom moved to a retirement community – I always imagine her time is spent with ladies like the Golden Girls. RIP Dorothy Zbornak.

Taking place on Long Beach Island, NJ — one of the East coast’s most popular surfing destinations — the festival celebrates four days of new, exciting and challenging films in honor of Long Beach Island’s historic Barnegat Lighthouse.
