FulTummy – most delicious sandiwch

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Went to newly opened FulTummy (Columbia waterfront / redhook) and while they only have three items on the menu (plus full coffee bar) there is little reason for them to add more. I got the chicken cutlet sandwich pictures below and it was positively delicious!!! Basically a Japanese style katsu sandwich – so damn good. FulTummy is to chicken cutlet sandwiches what frankies is to BLTs. (beyond compare). And the place is really low-key and cute.

I’ll Tumble 4 Ya

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I had been posting a bunch of found images on my personal blog but decided to make my life easier by starting a tumblr site. If anyone is interested you can see some of the nifty photos (and whatnot) that I come across on the web.

2 new additions to the studio

Friday, November 13th, 2009

We have two new characters in residence at the OYG studio:

the first is a true street find. Veronica and Deanna found this solid wood statue walking around the neighborhood. We are hoping he isn’t a bad luck omen as they found him on friday the 13th. We’ll see if there is some sort of brady bunch scenario that develops.  Veronica is affectionately referring to him as OYGbaby.

The second is a mouse. A real mouse. A rather ballsy mouse too. He’s been running around all morning and likely will get big and fat and be impossible to get rid of by humane measures. We’re thinking we might just get a habitrail for him and make it official.

photo of his likeness below.

Zorak!

Veronica found this little visitor in our doorway. Kind of cute don’t you think?

Cary Grant

I just took a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood and got hit on by 5 guys. I think someone must have crop dusted the area with pheromones. Unfortunately none of the men were a young Cary Grant.

Are/were you parked on smith between luquer and 3rd st?

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

So, my apologies as this post most likely falls under the “too little too late” category.

As the photo below shows they are doing some work on the west side of smith between Luquer and 3rd St. On either Sunday or monday they posted signs and I guess started ticketing and towing cars.

What about the poor folks who parked their car LAST Thursday and upon their return THIS Thursday will find either a ticket or that their car was towed? It just dawned on me this morning that Thursday Parkers might have no idea that this was happening. Anyay, they’ve manage to clear the entire side of the street so if you were parked there you might want to check on your car.

Free!

Someone was kind enough to leave some free items out on their stoop. 3 sticks of (used?) deodorant. Any takers?

Olga’s on smith

Monday, May 18th, 2009

A new joint opened up in our neck of the woods – Olga’s On Smith. Finally a place to get a coffee right on our block! Olga’s serves up healthy, kosher, and delicious fare, in a really nice and elegantly simple little storefront just up the street. (401 smith). There are a number of vegan, dairy free and/or gluten-free items.

I’ve been hitting them up for breakfast and lunch lately and I have a few favorites from their menu. Namely the Israeli couscous salad with mint (pictured below), the vegetarian lasagna and my favorite of favorites the pan fried eggplant in a pita with vegan dill sauce (also shown below). Unfortunately I’ve also become helplessly addicted to their Hungarian raspberry shortbread. Why shortbread? why did you have to come into my life?

the iwood - they think it is going to teach iphone users a lesson, but we love our phones so much, we’ll embrace this “knock-off” too.
